Hornady lists this 50 gr V-MAX at a lightning-fast 3,800 fps, making it one of the highest velocity factory offerings in the .22-250 lineup.
We are scheduling this load for formal testing to confirm real-world velocities, group averages, and SD values across several barrel lengths — particularly in the 22–26" range. Based on early experience and previous Varmint Express testing, we anticipate sub-MOA performance and strong consistency, especially out of longer-barreled bolt rifles.
Results and velocity charts will be posted once testing is complete.
Field Use
This is a go-to load for fast-paced varminting, including coyotes, prairie dogs, foxes, and jackrabbits. It’s also well-suited for high-volume target work when a flat trajectory and match-like performance are desired. Expect dramatic terminal results on small- to medium-sized predators inside 500 yards.
