Hornady lists this 88 gr ELD Match load at 2,820 fps, and while full velocity testing is underway, our initial field testing has shown excellent real-world performance.
We’ve tested this load on whitetail deer, wild hogs, and coyotes, all within traditional hunting ranges, and results have been consistently impressive — especially considering it was shot from a 16" barrel. Terminal performance was decisive on all animals tested, with good expansion and weight retention observed.
This is not just a paper-puncher — it’s a legitimate hybrid load capable of moonlighting as a light game and predator round where precision and mild recoil are important.

Field Use
Although this is a match load, we’ve already proven it effective on predators, hogs, and deer-sized game when used responsibly inside normal hunting ranges. It bridges the gap between traditional match bullets and modern hybrid-purpose cartridges. We’ll continue to field test this load extensively and report back with detailed results, wound profiles, and field impressions.
