Why the MOD-1 Matters

The MOD-1 variant was developed specifically for shooters looking to get the most out of their longer barrel and mid-to-rifle-length gas systems. It retains the outstanding accuracy of the original BlitzKing load while offering a slight but meaningful increase in muzzle velocity—particularly in 18”+ rifles. The result is improved energy on target, less wind drift, and a flatter trajectory when compared to traditional factory offerings.

We’ve also optimized internal ballistics to produce extremely consistent performance in varying temperatures. Our testing has shown an average temperature sensitivity of just 1.0–1.5 fps per degree, making it one of our most stable performers across seasons.

Field-Proven Performance

The Sierra 70 gr BlitzKing is no stranger to hunters. With a G1 BC of ~0.288–0.299 (depending on platform and barrel), this bullet has earned its reputation for flat shooting, reliable expansion, and excellent energy transfer on impact. It's particularly devastating on thin-skinned predators like coyotes and foxes, and many shooters also report solid results on hogs—especially with accurate shot placement.
