Tuning Notes & Insights from Ally Munitions
We’ve noted that in many cases, heavier buffer weights are well-suited for 6mm ARC and .22 ARC builds, especially when using the CMC and Superlative Arms BCGs we offer.
However, buffer weight selection depends on multiple factors, including:
-
Suppressor use
-
Buffer spring type
-
Ammo selection
-
Gas port size
Since the buffer system is an interconnected system, determining the right weight for your rifle requires testing different configurations. We strongly recommend purchasing multiple buffer weights and experimenting to see what works best for your setup.
General Trends We See in Carbine-Length Systems:
-
H3 and H4 buffers are the most common.
-
A5 systems typically run best with H1 or H2 buffers.
More details and an example tuning list are coming soon. Additionally, more buffer options will be available shortly.
For now, we carry and recommend CMC and PWS systems as our preferred choices.
