Ally Munitions Optic Mounting Process
Thank you for choosing Ally Munitions for your optic mounting needs. Below is an overview of our meticulous process to ensure your scope is properly installed, inspected, and ready for the range.
1. Inspection & Preparation
• We begin with a complete visual inspection of your optic, mount, and all related components.
• All hardware, the mount, and the optic itself are thoroughly degreased.
• We record all necessary data on your Optic Mounting Form, which is yours to keep.
• A function test is performed to check for any defects. If an issue is found, we replace the optic from our inventory and handle any warranty claims on our end.
2. Prefit & Seasoning
• The one-piece mount is reassembled, and the screws are seasoned (torqued and re-torqued) to ensure proper fitment.
• We check for proper spacing between the optic and mount and conduct a test fit on an AR or bolt gun receiver.
• Once seasoning is complete, we disassemble everything and move on to final assembly.
3. Final Assembly & Leveling
• The optic is carefully leveled using a dual-method approach—both the base and the optic’s naked turret are leveled against a reference line.
• Per manufacturer recommendations, we use inch-pound torque limiters to tighten cap screws to spec.
• We measure and adjust the gap between scope rings to ensure even spacing and continuously monitor for proper leveling.
4. Final Testing, Inspection & Bore Sighting
• All aftermarket accessories and batteries are installed.
• A final inspection is performed to confirm everything is secure and functioning properly.
• Note: You, the end user, will need to torque the base screws to the recommended spec for accurate bore sighting. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
5. Battery Installation & Function Testing
• Throw levers are installed, and zoom function is tested.
• A rough tracking test is performed to verify turret adjustments and return-to-zero functionality. A more detailed tracking test and grading system will be introduced at a later date.
• A rough bore sight is completed, but we still recommend confirming zero on paper at 20-50 yards before shooting at longer distances.
Final Notes
We highly recommend checking all hardware and screws after your first trip to the range. This is best practice to ensure everything remains secure and torqued to spec.
Your optic is now mounted, inspected, and ready to go, saving you time at the range! We strongly encourage reading your optic’s owner’s manual to fully understand its features and adjustments.
Thank you for trusting Ally Munitions
