Overview

The 6.5 Grendel 100gr ELD-M is an AR-friendly offering optimized for deer and hog hunting. It features Hornady’s match-grade 100 grain ELD-M projectile, providing high BC performance in shorter barrels while remaining compatible with common 1:7 and 1:8 twist rates.

While many associate the ELD-M line with target shooting, this particular load has earned its place in the hunting field—delivering explosive terminal performance at practical hunting distances. Among our 6.5 Grendel customers, this load stands out as a favorite for its accuracy, versatility, and real-world field results.

Velocity Chart

These are actual tested velocities recorded at 75°F, using our handloaded specification for the 100 gr ELD‑M in 6.5 Grendel. Testing was conducted at 2,550 ft elevation through suppressed rifles only.

We’ve also run this data through our proprietary simulation model to account for:

• Real-world barrel-to-barrel variance

• Cold-weather performance at 30°F

• Velocity deviations from extensive temperature testing

Big ammo companies won’t tell you how cold affects velocity — we will.
Still, we recommend that you chronograph your ammo to confirm DOPE for your specific rifle.
