The Hornady 180gr ELD® Match was selected for its extremely high ballistic efficiency, predictable terminal behavior on large game, and exceptional consistency at extended ranges. In 7mm PRC, this projectile shines—delivering deep penetration, retained velocity, and excellent wind resistance.

This load has been vetted for elk-, mule deer-, and large hog–sized game, where precision and retained energy matter most.

This is not a fur-friendly load. It is built for hunters who prioritize clean kills, ethical terminal performance, and confidence at distance.

Every velocity shown above is generated using Ally Munitions’ proprietary ballistic modeling engine, built from extensive live-fire chronograph data across multiple rifles, barrel lengths, and temperature conditions.

Our model incorporates:

• Verified live-fire chronograph data (baseline: 2930 fps from a 24" barrel @ 70°F)

• Powder temperature sensitivity modeling (≈ 0.3 fps/°F, consistent with H4831SC-class propellants)

• Barrel length efficiency scaling based on PRC case geometry

• ±10 FPS spread simulations to reflect real-world SD/ES behavior

• Data smoothing and rounding rules to present repeatable, field-relevant numbers

These are modeled averages, not optimistic marketing figures. If it says 2918 fps at 30°F, that result is derived from temperature-adjusted powder behavior—not guesswork.

Always chronograph your ammo through your rifle for true real-world results, as many factors go into actual velocity in your platform—such as chamber specs, atmospheric conditions, barrel length, and suppressor use.
