Canned Ham is our latest offering, specifically designed for hog hunting.

 223 77GR SB MOD- 2

With the success of our first offering we feel it is our duty to constantly push forward and make a better product. And we have, introducing the second version of the 223 77 gr , SB MOD-2

While the first version was great weve gone back to the drawing board and boom room and made it better. Giving you lower SD'S , HIGHER VELOCITIES while still maintainig our stringent precision standards. What that means in this particular line is, canned ham must perform 1 moa at 100 yards through any appropriatley twisted barrel in order to make it to Production. For the most part it has exceeded those standards. Thousnds of rounds in testing.

barrel twist recomendations 1:6- 1:7, 1:8

We found most rifles 1:6, 1:7 perform sub moa 5 shot groups. It is fairly common most platforms will be 1:7 now days.

Although we can not garuntee these results in the wild, due to the thousands of different confirgurations, shooters, etc, we will continue to update our test rifle library with the most popular and common barrel configurations.

While the canned ham line is meant for short barrel , supressed ar platforms, you can use it in bolt action rifles. In fact many customers do so. Also, if running suppressed it will perform in longer gas system AR'S, ALTHOUGH we can not garuntee it to function 100 percent properly, as this is not its intended use. Why you might ask? The sb stands for short barrel, and that has to do with our powder selection, utalizing a powder that burns much faster than traditional do it all ammo,it  ensures a cleaner burn rate in short barrel configurations. Giving you way less blowback, and trash in your system. Allowing for more range or woods time between cleanings and less dangerous gasses in your face. And less of a chance at muzzle flash. As this is something to consider when hunting with nightvision or thermals.

We are loading this ammo with a 77 gr Nosler Custom Comp projectile. Not for its balistic performance, but for its performance on game  at velocities the shorter platforms are capable of. For a larger game round (hogs and whitetail) we performed many test in the field accompanied by autopsy to determine this perjectile to meet our requirements. Also, when considereing projectiles that would work well with our powder charge this one married the round perfectly.

Furthermore , with the introduction of more and more reduced back pressure supressors hitting the market, we ask that you keep in mind, this ammo is very speceficly optimized for shorter gas systems, and traditional supresssors. In Di sytems. And when we say very optimized, we mean very. So the moment you greatly decrese the back pressure, it may even fail to operate. You can tune your system to this ammo to get that operating reliability with decreased back pressure but its not realy recomended. As it was developed for the very specifc use case of tradition sb rifles adding a supressor to the mix.

At this time, we do not recomend this ammo for any Piston operated sytems, so buyer be aware. More on this later, a little something we like to call the  "sig equation".

All ammo is handloaded and tested in multiple rifle platforms. Purchaser should still look for signs of pressure after first round is fired to insure our ammo is safe for their firearm. As some of our offerings may be slightly hottter than factory offerings.

Ally Munitions Mission Statement

We strive to provide both the Modern Hunter and Shooter with the ammunition he or she needs to have success in the field. Whether you’re hunting prairie dogs or elk, our ammo isn’t just pulled from a random hat, it is specifically chosen for the job. We don’t just test one projectile through a singular test barrel in a facility. Our load development process for each year takes place over several months through a wide selection of various barrel offerings. We also do not hitch our hat on any one company for our components. We always choose our components for the particular load we are working on. Where this has the biggest impact is Projectile Selection. While some projectiles may work incredibly well in one caliber, it might be underwhelming on a different caliber.

We are hunters and shooters alike. All of our flagship loads undergo months of testing before they are finalized. Whether it is shooting on paper, utilizing ballistics gel, or taking it out in the field and testing performance on animals, you can rest assured that Ally Munitions will exceed your expectations.
