AR-15 Trigger Upgrades – CMC & TriggerTech Options Available

Your trigger is the gateway to consistency and control—so make it count.
At Ally Munitions, we’ve run just about every AR-15 trigger on the market through field and bench tests, from hard-use predator rifles to precision DMR-style builds. Two options have consistently risen to the top for different needs and preferences: the CMC Two-Stage Drop-In Trigger and the TriggerTech Duty Line.

We carry both because each offers unmatched value, dependability, and feel, and they serve different shooting styles with excellence.

CMC Two-Stage Drop-In Trigger – 2lb/2lb (Curved & Flat Shoe Options)

The CMC Two-Stage Drop-In Trigger is a simple yet refined upgrade for those who want total control and a clean, repeatable break. Featuring a 2lb first stage and 2lb second stage, this trigger is excellent for both hunting and precision-style shooting. The drop-in design installs effortlessly in standard mil-spec lowers, and you can choose between curved or flat shoes depending on your preference.

  • Drop-in design for fast installation

  • Precision-machined aluminum housing

  • Factory tuned and fully self-contained

  • Available in flat or curved shoe

  • Small pin size (.154") – fits all mil-spec AR-15s

  • Includes new trigger pins and hardware

From Wade:
“We enjoy this trigger greatly for all types of hunting and more precision-type shooting. It’s a consistent performer with a clean wall and break, and it’s made right here in Texas—which is a big plus for us.
Now that we carry the CMC trigger, we can confidently recommend it—that means it’s been tested thoroughly and meets our performance standards. We enjoy either option, and we trust them in the field.”

TriggerTech Duty Triggers – Unmatched Reliability & Performance

If rugged reliability and repeatable performance are your priority, the TriggerTech Duty Line is one of the finest AR-15 trigger families available. Built off MIL/LE operator feedback, the Duty Line balances durability with zero-creep precision and a strong, tactile reset. It’s a phenomenal trigger whether you’re running drills, defending your property, or shooting steel at distance.

TriggerTech Duty Features:

  • Adjustable pull weight: 3.5 – 5.5 lbs

  • Zero Creep™ Technology – crisp, consistent break

  • Flat or curved trigger shoe available

  • Single-stage or two-stage configurations

  • Short overtravel (0.060") and quick reset (0.070")

  • Full-power hammer spring for reliable ignition

  • Standard small pin size (.154")

  • 440C stainless steel internals, PVD-coated housing

  • Lifetime Warranty

  • No trigger pins included – compatible with standard pins; anti-rotation options coming soon

Single-Stage:

  • Instant break with no take-up

  • Best for hunting rigs, defensive rifles, and speed shooting

  • My go-to for fast follow-up shots

Two-Stage:

  • First stage take-up with crisp second stage

  • Ideal for those who like to prep the shot

  • Best suited for tactical and precision-style shooting

From Wade:
“After years of using and testing many, many, many different bolt gun and AR-15 triggers, one thing has become abundantly clear—TriggerTech is the best in the game. Across all the rounds we’ve sent downrange and all the platforms we’ve tested, we’ve never had a single failure with a TriggerTech trigger. My personal favorites are the Flat Shoe Single-Stage and Flat Shoe Two-Stage. They offer the best blend of control, feel, and consistency.

One standout feature is the set screw design that locks the trigger in solid—no play, no shifting. In our testing, we've used them with standard pins and never needed anti-rotation pins. Still, we’ll be offering aftermarket pin upgrades soon for those who prefer them.”

The TriggerTech AR Safety was engineered to maximize performance when paired with TriggerTech AR drop-in triggers, and after extensive testing, it has become our favorite safety selector for precision AR platforms.

At Ally Munitions, we don’t add parts to our lineup unless they are tested, vetted, and proven to serve a real purpose. This safety does exactly that. It improves ergonomics, enhances feel, simplifies maintenance, and delivers a level of smoothness that immediately stands out.

One of the most unique features of the TriggerTech AR Safety is its patented design, which allows the safety and trigger to be installed or removed without removing the grip after the initial setup. This is made possible by the tumbler and proprietary ball-tipped detent pin, saving time during trigger changes, cleaning, or maintenance.

From a performance standpoint, the feel of this safety is exceptional. The silicon nitride ball-tipped detent offers ultra-low friction and long-term durability, resulting in an incredibly smooth and positive transition between safe and fire. This material is the same type used on space shuttle components and will not wear over time.

The safety is fully ambidextrous, includes short and long interchangeable levers, and can be configured for either a 45° or 90° throw. In the 45-degree configuration, the size and shape are nearly perfect for use as a thumb shelf, whether you ride your thumb on the outside or wrap it—something we’ve found especially beneficial for precision shooting.

Another major advantage is maintenance. Being able to remove the safety and trigger without pulling the grip makes cleaning the lower receiver and trigger much easier. In our opinion, triggers and lowers don’t get cleaned nearly enough—now there’s no excuse.

All components are built from premium materials, including a DLC-coated 440C stainless steel tumbler and 17-4 stainless steel levers, delivering excellent durability and corrosion resistance in harsh environments.

All in all, this is an outstanding upgrade for any AR platform running TriggerTech drop-in triggers, and one we confidently approve and recommend.

Installation Notes from Ally Munitions

  • Follow the included installation guide—it’s straightforward and easy to understand.

  • We recommend using a small amount of high-temperature grease to:

    • Hold the safety detent spring in place during grip installation

    • Lubricate metal-to-metal contact points on the safety components

  • This often-overlooked step further smooths safety operation and improves long-term feel.

  • Ensure the locking screws on your TriggerTech trigger are properly tightened, as this is critical for correct function and safety operation.
