As you may have heard, we’ve just released a new addition to our 22 Creed Coyotero lineup—the 62 grain ELD VT. Naturally, many folks are asking why we introduced this bullet and what it offers compared to the well-established 75 grain ELD-M. The answer is simple: it’s just another great option.

The 75 grain ELD-M is incredibly effective—honestly, it’s hard to beat. And that’s not just hype; it genuinely performs at a top level. We’ll be releasing a detailed data comparison soon that will show side-by-side ballistics out to 600 yards, including drop and wind drift with corrected ballistic coefficients.

What we can tell you now is that the 62 grain ELD VT actually outperforms the 75 grain ELD-M at around 300 yards by a couple of inches in elevation. The difference is small but notable. The reason? The 75 grain’s BC is likely lower than advertised, while the 62 grain’s BC is higher than expected—especially at its higher velocity.

More than anything, this new offering was born out of necessity to provide another readily available option within the Coyotero lineup. It’s particularly suited for thermal hunters looking to gain just a slight edge in elevation performance at typical shooting distances.

While we collect extensive velocity data for all our loads, keep in mind that real-world results can vary. Having a different bullet profile and weight gives the end user flexibility to see what works best with their specific rifle platform. Our advice? Grab a 20-round box of each—the 62 grain ELD VT and the 75 grain ELD-M—and see which one your rifle prefers.

Across the board, the 75 grain ELD-M is a more forgiving bullet profile, often delivering tighter groups in a wider variety of rifles. However, the 62 grain ELD VT tends to perform better in some slower twist-rate barrels, giving it an edge in certain setups.
