308 WIN COYOTERO IS BACK!

The .308 Coyotero Gen 2: A Legacy Round Reborn

At Ally Munitions, we're proud to bring back a true fan favorite — and this time, it's better than ever. The .308 WIN 110gr V-MAX Coyotero Gen 2 is here, and it hits harder, runs cleaner, and delivers the kind of terminal results that make it a legend on predators and hogs alike.

The Origin of the Coyotero

This round has roots. Born from real-world necessity, the original Coyotero was developed by Wade and Papy during predator hunts in the thick brush country of West Texas. Faced with fast, close-range shots and the need for absolute terminal effect, Wade knew a hard-hitting, high-velocity load was needed — especially one that ran flawlessly from 16" bolt guns.

The initial test loads used the 110gr Varminter-style bullets with great success. But with those projectiles getting harder to find, we pivoted to the 110gr V-MAX — and what a move it was. Devastating expansion, violent energy transfer, and phenomenal accuracy made it an instant classic.

Gen 2 – Faster, Cleaner, More Refined

We didn’t just bring it back — we rebuilt it.

The Gen 2 Coyotero now boasts increased velocity across all barrel lengths, adding nearly 100 fps more punch than the original. We also focused on reducing muzzle flash and keeping suppressed semi-auto platforms cleaner, thanks to enhanced powder blends and gas system-friendly burn rates.

Testing was done exclusively suppressed, through both bolt actions and semi-autos at our facility, which sits at 2,550 feet of elevation. The result? Precision and devastation in every round.

Chronographed Velocities (Suppressed)

  • 12.5" barrel – 2,950 fps

  • 16" barrel – 3,100 fps

  • 24" barrel – 3,275 fps

  • 26" barrel – 3,380 fps

G1 Ballistic Coefficient: 0.290 (Hornady 110gr V-MAX)
Recommended Twist Rates: 1:8, 1:10, 1:12

Built for a Purpose

This is not a fur-friendly load. If you’re calling predators or controlling hogs and your #1 priority is lethality, this is the load you reach for. The 110gr V-MAX is purpose-built to fragment and destroy on impact — especially when it’s moving north of 3,000 fps.

And after months of testing, refinement, and tuning, this offering is no longer just a fan-favorite revival — it’s a mainstay. We’ll keep this load in regular rotation, giving hunters and shooters the .308 predator hammer they’ve been asking for.

Why .308 WIN?

While many modern predator cartridges have emerged, the .308 Winchester remains a powerhouse. It's widely available, easily suppressed, and delivers energy that simply outclasses smaller calibers — especially in dense terrain where knockdown power matters most. When you pair that with a high-speed varmint projectile like the 110gr V-MAX, you get something special.
