PACKAGING CHANGES!

Ally Munitions Packaging Update: Sealed for Stability, Built for the Future

Did You Know?

Most commercial ammunition isn't hermetically sealed—and that matters more than you might think.

Gunpowder is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air, even in dry storage. Over time, that moisture can degrade powder performance, cause inconsistencies in ignition, shift velocities, and lead to unpredictable accuracy. Whether you shoot in the heat, the cold, or during seasonal transitions, moisture control is key to consistency.

At Ally Munitions, we’re serious about stability—and we’re making a major packaging upgrade to give our customers the best long-term performance possible.

New Sealed Packaging Standard

Starting now, all Ally Munitions ammo is being transitioned to sealed bags that include a desiccant (silica) pack. These bags provide a protective barrier from ambient moisture and temperature swings—preserving the careful precision that went into every round.

But we're not stopping there.

Every sealed bag will be housed inside an exterior layer—whether that’s a can, retail box, or poly bag—to protect it further during transport and storage. This two-stage packaging ensures a longer shelf life and better ammo stability across environments.

Why We're Moving Away From Metal Cans

While we’ve proudly used cans in the past, rising steel prices and supply chain delays have made them increasingly expensive and difficult to source reliably. They also add bulk and cost without improving internal performance.

Going forward:

  • Metal cans will only be used in select Canned Ham offerings

  • Even those will include sealed inner bags as standard

  • Most of our ammo will now ship in sealed barrier bags with an outer container

This change reduces waste, improves shelf stability, and lowers cost for customers—especially those ordering in bulk.

Bulk Orders Just Got Smarter

With this shift, bulk ammo orders are now easier and more cost-effective than ever. By eliminating individual can packaging and consolidating into sealed barrier bags, we’re able to streamline fulfillment without compromising product integrity.

Expect more options for 100+ round orders, especially in our Coyotero, Cull Buck, and Premier Series moving forward.

Special Note: Premier Series Packaging Update

Even our Premier Series—our most demanding handloaded lineup—is making the shift.

Some of our latest 20-round offerings have already begun shipping in sealed bags, and the transition is actively underway across the line. You may see some overlap during this transition period as inventory cycles out, but rest assured: the ammo inside is identical—just packaged smarter.

We will continue updating product listings and photos over time to reflect this change.
