FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS FROM PROOF RESEARCH WEBSITE. 

BARREL WARRANTY RECALL NOTIFICATION - 27 AUGUST 2024

Proof Research is asking our customers to immediately discontinue use of and return certain 6 ARC and 22 ARC AR-15 barrels due to premature barrel extension wear that could lead to a potential safety hazard. These barrels are of recent manufacture and can be identified as having a black-colored barrel extension with a triangular marking, ∆, at the top of the rear face of the extension. This warranty recall applies to all steel and carbon-wrapped AR-15 barrels of any length, chambered in 6 ARC or 22 ARC, and with the identified extension installed. These barrels were manufactured between the end of January 2024 and August of 2024.
In several cases, barrels with cartridge feeding issues were brought to Proof’s attention. These barrels have been returned to Proof Research and upon evaluation we have determined they can have premature extension wear and in extreme cases extension lug damage. Proof Research requests that all affected barrels be returned. Affected barrels will have a new extension installed, or at Proof Research’s discretion the entire barrel assembly may be replaced.

To initiate the warranty recall process please email info@proofresearch.com or call Proof Research Customer Service at 406-756-9290. You will be asked to provide the serial number, engraved on your barrel(s). All shipment and upgrade costs will be covered by Proof Research.
