The Q Fix is already an outstanding rifle, and with the availability of .22 Creedmoor, it can now be run in one of the most exciting modern cartridges available today.

As always, every barrel we offer is completely inspected in-house before being made available to our customers. These are Ally Munitions–approved, solid-performance barrels that have earned their place in our lineup.

We’ve been running our original sample barrel in our own Q Fix and have been extremely pleased with its performance. Of our ammo offerings, we’ve seen excellent results starting with 75gr and 88gr ELD-M projectiles. While there’s no guarantee your rifle will prefer the same loads, this provides a strong baseline to begin load testing.

Every Proof Research Q Fix barrel we sell undergoes a strict in-house inspection process prior to being offered for sale. This includes:

• Complete visual inspection

• Full borescope inspection to verify internal quality

• Receiver fitment verification

• Headspace check

• Detailed inspection of the muzzle crown (internal and external)

• Verified muzzle device fit using a known, spec-correct muzzle device

• Chamber inspection with special attention paid to the freebore and forcing cone, an area often overlooked by many manufacturers and a common source of issues

• All inspection data and notes logged into our in-house system for reference at any time

Why Is the Barrel Inspection Printed?

Our in-house barrel inspection process is performed entirely electronically using a custom-built internal system enhanced with AI to log, track, and store every inspection detail.

Each barrel is inspected digitally, including all checks and the full borescope video. Once the inspection is complete and all data is uploaded, our system automatically generates a printed inspection form with notes specific to that individual barrel.

That printed inspection sheet is included with your barrel for easy reference, while the complete digital record—inspection data, notes, and borescope video—is permanently stored in our internal system. Using the barrel’s serial number, we can access the full inspection history at any time.

This ensures transparency, traceability, and long-term accountability for every barrel we sell.
