Overview

The Ruger American Upgrade Kit 1 is built around one of our favorite chassis systems of all time — the Kinetic Research Group (KRG) Bravo. This drop-in chassis transforms your short-action Ruger American (Gen 1 or Gen 2) into a fully modular, precision-ready platform capable of accepting AICS magazines.

We’ve been fans of the Bravo for years because it strikes the perfect balance between simplicity, adjustability, and real-world durability. Whether you’re chasing coyotes, hunting big game, or just improving your range setup, this upgrade will help you get the most out of your rifle.

Kit Components

Each Ruger American Upgrade Kit 1 includes:

• KRG Bravo Chassis – Right-hand, short-action model, compatible with Gen 1 & Gen 2 Ruger American rifles.

• KRG Full-Length ARCA Rail – Ready for tripods and precision accessories.

• CMC QD Cup – mlok mounting options on forearm allows you to mount  to the forearm for sling  attachment.

• All Required Hardware – Everything you need for installation.

We’ve been running the KRG Bravo across multiple builds for years, and it’s one of those rare chassis that just works. At roughly 3 pounds, it adds rigidity and balance without unnecessary bulk. The Bravo offers adjustable ergonomics, integrated bedding, and the ability to grow with your rifle — from simple hunting setups to competition-ready builds.

Installation

The KRG Bravo is a true drop-in fit. Installation typically takes under 15 minutes using standard tools. No gunsmithing required. The kit includes everything needed for initial setup.

Keep all components free of moisture and debris. Clean ARCA rails and mounting points periodically to ensure smooth operation and proper accessory fitment.
