The Hornady 90gr ELD-X® is an exceptional all-range hunting bullet. With a G1 BC of 0.409 and G7 BC of 0.206, it offers efficient flight and reliable expansion. It's a logical choice for whitetail and hog hunting, especially if you’re looking for a more robust, deeper-penetrating projectile than standard varmint options.

We chose this one because of its performance aspects we've seen on hogs. While the nose portion will explode or mushroom depending on barrel length and range, the base holds together well—making it a logical choice for the tough exterior of a hog.

Velocity Data

These are actual recorded velocities at 75°F, collected during our suppressed rifle testing. We’ve run these figures through our proprietary simulation model, which accounts for barrel-to-barrel variance and how velocity drops with colder temperatures. This allows you to see real-world performance across barrel lengths and projected velocities at 30°F—helping you plan for hunts and range days in colder conditions.

Big ammo companies won’t tell you this. We will.

Note: While our simulation provides a trustworthy projection, it’s still best practice to chronograph your own ammo for precise performance in your specific rifle.

Twist Rate Testing: This load has been tested successfully in 1:7, 1:7.5, 1:8, and 1:10 twist barrels—all yielding excellent results in accuracy and consistency.
