Sobchak Security LLC North American Hunting Ranging Card

A Backup Rangefinder That Never Needs Batteries

The North American Hunting Ranging Card from Sobchak Security LLC is a compact field reference designed to help hunters quickly estimate distance using their rifle scope's reticle. Available in both MIL and MOA versions, these cards provide reference measurements for common North American game animals, varmints, and various field objects that hunters may encounter while afield.

Rather than relying solely on electronics, this system allows hunters to use the optic already mounted on their rifle to determine range when needed. Whether you're dealing with dead batteries, environmental conditions, equipment failure, or simply prefer having redundant systems in the field, the North American Hunting Ranging Card provides a practical backup solution that weighs almost nothing and takes up minimal pack space.

Sobchak Security researched average dimensions for a wide variety of North American game animals and common field objects, then organized the information into an easy-to-reference format designed specifically for real-world hunting applications.

Ally Munitions Notes

While we certainly hope you'll consider one of the many laser rangefinding solutions we offer, we're also big believers in having backup systems.

Ranging is no different.

Every day we walk around carrying a rifle scope capable of performing this task. The challenge has never been the optic itself—it's been having the reference data, calculations, and field notes available quickly enough to matter when an opportunity presents itself.

Sobchak Security solved that problem.

The North American Hunting Ranging Card puts the most commonly encountered game animals, varmints, and field-reference objects into a quick-reference format that can be accessed immediately when needed.

We've personally been carrying these cards for the past two years, and when properly deployed, they are an excellent field tool. They aren't intended to replace a quality rangefinder, but they can absolutely serve as a valuable backup system when electronics fail or conditions become less than ideal.

In fact, we're such fans of these cards that we'll be including them with qualifying Vortex Razor, and rangefinder  purchases through Ally Munitions. We also wanted to make them available as a standalone item because they're genuinely useful enough to deserve a place in every hunter's pack.

One of the things we appreciate most is that these are hunting-focused. Sobchak didn't build a generic ranging reference. They looked at the animals and objects hunters actually encounter in the field and created a practical reference system around them.

Simply choose the version that matches your scope, spend a little time practicing with it at the range, and you'll have another valuable tool available when the moment matters.

How It Works

  1. Identify the animal or object.
  2. Measure the target using your reticle.
  3. Reference the ranging card.
  4. Calculate estimated distance.
  5. Confirm and engage as conditions allow.

Like any skill, ranging with a reticle improves with practice. We strongly recommend spending time using the card at known distances before relying on it during a hunt.

Compatibility

  • MIL Version for MIL reticles
  • MOA Version for MOA reticles

Always match the card to your optic's reticle system.
