Who Is Premier For?

Premier isn’t for the shooter who’s content dumping rounds downrange and accepting “good enough.” It’s not for the range plinker chasing volume over precision. Premier is for the hunter who refuses to compromise—the one who demands the absolute best in consistency, accuracy, and terminal performance.
When you're preparing for the hunt of a lifetime, the last thing you want to question is your ammunition. Do you trust mass-produced factory ammo built on assembly lines—or handcrafted precision built by hunters who understand what’s at stake?
Premier is built for those who demand confidence in every shot.
This is ammunition for the shooter who expects perfection, respects the process, and understands that precision is earned—not mass-produced.

Overview

The Ally Munitions Premier Series 7mm PRC 180gr Berger VLD Hunting was developed as a serious hunting load for hunters who demand precision, consistency, and dependable terminal performance from the 7mm PRC.
Built around the Berger 180gr VLD Hunting, Peterson brass, premium components, and our handloading process, this offering combines the long-range capabilities of the 7mm PRC with a projectile designed specifically for hunting.
This is an extremely versatile hunting combination suitable for a wide range of game, from deer and similar-sized animals through larger game such as aoudad and elk.
Whether you're hunting close or taking advantage of the 7mm PRC's capabilities at extended distances, the goal remains the same: provide the hunter with consistent, precision ammunition they can have confidence in when the shot matters.

Projectile Details – Berger 180gr VLD Hunting

The Berger 180gr VLD Hunting combines a high ballistic coefficient with the terminal-performance characteristics of Berger's VLD Hunting design.
Its secant-ogive profile and boat-tail design provide excellent external ballistic performance, helping the projectile retain velocity and reduce the effects of wind at extended distances.
For the hunter, that gives the 7mm PRC a projectile capable of taking advantage of the cartridge's long-range potential while still being built around terminal performance on game.

Velocity Data

Velocity data coming soon.
Our velocity information will be based on collected live-fire chronograph data and Ally Munitions' in-house ballistic modeling across the barrel lengths and conditions used during development.
Once testing and data collection are complete, this section will include our established barrel-length velocity chart along with modeled temperature data.

How We Develop Our Ballistic Data: Our In-House Ballistic Engine

Ally Munitions develops our ballistic models around the real-world data we collect during ammunition development and testing.
Our process incorporates:

  • Live-fire chronograph data
  • Barrel-length performance data
  • Temperature sensitivity
  • Atmospheric and environmental conditions
  • Platform-specific variables
  • The results we've collected throughout development and testing
The purpose of the model is to provide hunters with a generalized reference for what they may expect across different barrel lengths and conditions.
These figures are not guarantees of the exact velocity you will see from your rifle. Chamber dimensions, barrel condition, suppressor configuration, environmental conditions, and the individual firearm can all affect actual velocity.
Always chronograph the ammunition through your individual rifle and establish and verify your own ballistic data.

Handloading & Quality Control

Every round of Ally Munitions Premier ammunition is handloaded, with attention paid to consistency throughout the entire loading process.
Just as importantly, the ammunition is kept sequential throughout production and packaging. The 20 rounds in your box come from the same loading tray and came off our loading process consecutively—one after another. We don't randomly mix ammunition from different trays or production sequences simply to fill a box.
This allows us to maintain better continuity throughout each 20-round package and is another part of the process we use to provide consistent ammunition from the first round in the box to the last.

Operational Envelope

To help customers better understand the potential downrange capability of this ammunition, Ally Munitions uses two separate models that together make up what we call the Operational Envelope.
MIVM — Minimum Impact Velocity Model: Gives you a generalized idea of the distance at which the projectile remains above our established minimum impact velocity. Simply put, the MIVM helps show where the projectile can be expected to perform more predictably in the target.
TVM — Transonic Velocity Model: Gives you a generalized idea of the distance at which the projectile remains above our 1,350 FPS transonic reference. Above this reference, the projectile's flight can generally be modeled more predictably using traditional ballistic models. Once velocity falls below this region, projectile flight can become slightly less predictable and traditional ballistic models may not represent actual downrange performance as consistently.
Both are models. They are intended to give you a generalized idea of the ammunition's potential Operational Envelope based on Ally Munitions' collected data and testing. They are not guarantees of exact performance or recommended hunting or shooting distances.

MIVM — Minimum Impact Velocity Model

Data coming soon.
Once you've established the minimum impact velocity reference and completed the ballistic data, we'll populate the MIVM table here.

TVM — Transonic Velocity Model

For this ammunition, Ally Munitions uses 1,350 FPS as our transonic velocity reference.
Data coming soon.
Once the velocity data is finalized, we'll populate the barrel-length TVM table here.

Understanding the Operational Envelope

Together, the MIVM and TVM make up the Ally Munitions Operational Envelope.
The MIVM provides a modeled reference for predictable performance in the target, while the TVM provides a modeled reference for predictable performance in flight.
These models are built from Ally Munitions' collected data, test elevation, temperature, and environmental conditions and are designed to give you a generalized idea of what to expect.
They are not guarantees of exact performance, maximum hunting distances, or maximum shooting distances.
Always chronograph the ammunition through your individual rifle and establish and verify your own ballistic data.

Platform & Suppressor Testing

This Premier offering is developed around the precision and performance expected from the 7mm PRC.
As with all of our ammunition development, we collect substantial amounts of data across different barrel lengths, rifle configurations, and environmental conditions before an offering moves into production. Every component is selected based on how it works in conjunction with the complete system, not simply how one individual specification looks on paper.
Our bolt-action testing includes traditional baffled suppressors. Suppressor design, barrel manufacturer, chamber dimensions, barrel condition, and other platform-specific variables can all influence the results you see from your individual rifle.
This is handloaded, performance-based hunting ammunition developed around precision, consistency, reliability, and terminal performance.
Always properly maintain your rifle, understand your individual platform, chronograph your ammunition, and confirm your data before relying on published performance information.

Packaging & Storage

Ally Munitions Premier 7mm PRC 180gr Berger VLD Hunting is packaged in 20-round boxes.
The ammunition in each box is packaged sequentially from the loading process. The 20 rounds come from the same loading tray and consecutive production sequence, rather than being randomly mixed from separate trays or production sequences.
Inside the outer packaging, the ammunition is packaged in a heavy-mil sealed, resealable bag with a silica gel pack inside.
We've spent considerable time developing and testing the variables surrounding ammunition and component storage. How components are stored before loading, how finished ammunition is packaged, and how you store that ammunition after purchase can all matter when consistency is the goal.
The idea is simple: store your ammunition as well as you reasonably can. Protect it from excessive moisture, but also avoid unnecessarily exposing it to extremely dry conditions, excessive heat, direct sunlight, or major environmental swings.
After opening the package, leave the silica gel pack inside and reseal the bag when you're finished. The heavy-mil bag isn't simply disposable packaging; it's part of the storage system we've selected for the ammunition.
We've put considerable time and effort into controlling component and ammunition storage on our end. Maintaining good storage practices after purchase gives you the best opportunity to preserve the consistent performance the ammunition was developed to provide.
